The Full Story:
The San Francisco Patient and Resource Center (SPARC) is a nonprofit healing center dedicated to providing subsidized health services to their patient members. SPARC began as a collaboration between several small collectives focused primarily on serving low-income patients suffering from chronic and terminal illnesses. More than 15 years later, SPARC has expanded its membership base to include hundreds of thousands of patients.
With this successful expansion came more paperwork that SPARC staff had to fill out, process and store. They did not have enough room in their own facilities to store the volumes of member paperwork, so they resorted to storing it at an offsite document storage space. Not only were they spending money on the storage fees but also on printing, copying, and administrative costs.
These storage, processing and efficiency challenges prompted Justin Morgan, SPARC’s IT Director, to search for a mobile forms solution.
“We looked at a lot of solutions but none of them allowed for seamlessly using our existing paper documents as a template. GoFormz allowed us to keep the branding and professional design that we’d invested in and makes us an industry leader, while allowing us to save money and time by eliminating our costly, time consuming paper process.”
He found that by using GoFormz, his storage problems were solved and he was able to streamline form creation and processing. Additionally, GoFormz addressed SPARC’s design needs. Aesthetics and design were important to SPARC – they won recognition and awards from the American Institute of Architects, and had spent a considerable amount of time and resources developing a professional and minimalist style in their branding.
“GoFormz was such a great fit, it allowed us to use our pre-existing design of our forms. We’re now using GoFormz to digitize our member intake process, along with other forms, which was formerly totally paper-based.”
Shortly after switching from paper to mobile forms, Justin and the SPARC team started seeing real benefits from using GoFormz, including cost savings, quicker intake processing and a decrease in administrative errors.
3 DISTINCT BENEFITS FROM USING GOFORMZ
1. Cost Savings: “Since using GoFormz, we now are able to store all the data captured in the forms in a secured cloud database, saving us money and time.”
2. Quicker Intake Processes and Easy Data Retrieval: SPARC members love filling out the forms on an iPad because it is quicker and more efficient than before. Records can also be retrieved easily and instantly. “After they press [Save] their information is stored in the appropriate filing system which allows us to easily retrieve their information at any given time.”
3. Decrease in Administrative Errors: GoFormz’ conditional logic and required fields help the administrative team and members fill out forms completely and answer all of the required questions. This ensures that SPARC has all the information needed for their records.
