ProTip: Copy & Paste Template Fields

Learn to copy and paste Template fields

Our users are buzzing about the latest addition to GoFormz: you can now copy and paste fields in the GoFormz Template Editor. When editing your Template, you can now copy fields and paste them within the same Template or within a different Template. You can even copy and paste multiple fields at the same time! Please note: copies of a field are not linked to the original field.

There are two ways to copy and paste your fields: using the Copy and Paste buttons in the Template Editor, or using Ctrl C and Ctrl V shortcuts on your keyboard.

Using the Copy and Paste buttons in the Template Editor:
In the upper, right-hand corner of your Template Editor (just above the Template itself) you’ll see the Copy and Paste buttons, next to the Zoom In/Out options. Copy (on the left) will show when at least one of your fields has been selected. Paste (on the right) will show when a field or fields have been copied. To copy and paste a field, simply:

  1. Select the field you wish to copy and paste

  2. Click the Copy button

  3. If you are not in the Template you wish to add your field to, navigate to your desired Template

  4. Click the Paste button

  5. Adjust your field’s placement, size, and properties

Using the Ctrl C and Ctrl V keyboard shortcuts: You can also use your keyboard to copy and paste Template fields. To copy and paste a field using your keyboard:

  1. Select the field you wish to copy and paste

  2. On your keyboard, select ‘Ctrl’ and ‘C’

  3. If you are not in the Template you wish to add your field to, navigate to your desired Template

  4. On your keyboard, hit ‘Ctrl’ and ‘V’

  5. Adjust your field’s placement, size, and properties

A few key notes about this feature:

  • Users can paste fields on the same template or different template and as many times as they would like

  • When pasting a field, these new fields are not tied to the copied field in any way

  • Once you select at least one field, the copy button will be enabled

  • Pasting a new field will add the next incremental number to the end of the name of the field (for example, if you copied a field named ‘Image’, the pasted field would be named ‘Image 1’)

  • Pasting a new field on a different page or template than the copied field will place the new field in the same location on the page as the original field
