FAQ: What are Template Events?

Have you utilized Template Events?

Template Events are used to configure simple automations tied to a specific form Template. These Template Events are comprised of a Trigger and an Action, with the Trigger initiating the occurrence of the Action

For example, Template Events can be used to automate the delivery of completed Work Orders to the customer email entered within the form. In this scenario, the completion of a Work Order acts as the Trigger, with the Action being the email delivery of a PDF copy of the completed form.

What can be a Trigger?

The following can be used as Triggers within your Template Events

  • Form completion: When a user hits ‘Complete’ and the form is successfully completed

  • Form transfer: When a user receives a form via a form transfer

  • Public Form submission: When a Public Form is submitted for a form owned by the user

What can be an Action?

The following can be actions triggered by the occurrence of a Trigger

Template Events being configured within the GoFormz Template editor Template Events window, for a health assessment form.

Use case example: COVID-19 Health Assessment Screening
For this example, imagine you are a job site supervisor for a major construction build amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. To protect the safety, health, and compliance of your team, all job site visitors must complete a Health Assessment before returning to the job site. To ensure employees are completing their assessments prior to their arrival, management has asked each assessment to be delivered to their job site’s security team, to streamline visitor screenings.

Using mobile forms, Health Assessments can be easily be shared with and completed by employees, no matter their location. Via Template Events, copies of completed Health Assessment forms can be instantly emailed to job site security, for them to pre-screen visitors and grant access in a timely manner. In this example, the completion of a Health Assessment acts as the Trigger, with the emailing of the form as the Action.
