ProTip: Features To Quickly Format Your Digital Form Templates
Accelerate and standardize formatting with these helpful Template Editor tools
The GoFormz Template Editor has helpful tools and methods for efficiently formatting your digital form Templates. Here are four great ways you can quickly improve your Templates.
Configure Formatting at a Template Level
Rather than configuring the appearance of each field on your Template, you can establish default display settings at the Template level – meaning every field added to a digital form Template will automatically be formatted as specified. Please note that this functionality still allows for the customization of individual fields.
Within your Template’s default display settings, you can select the font, text size, alignment, text color, background color, and focus color to be applied across every field on your Template.
This feature saves Template builders valuable time and effortlessly standardizes the look and feel of your digital forms.

Required Field Settings
In the Default Display settings, Template builders can also apply formatting across all Required fields. This means that you can pre-select a background color for all Required fields. For example, when a form is generated, any Required field could be configured to have a red background, while unrequired fields would remain blue.
*Please note: custom color on a required field is only available on mobile versions v4 and higher.
Filter Existing Fields by Property
This feature gives Template builders the ability to quickly locate fields already added to their Template. Users can filter fields by type and specific properties, including required fields, mapped status, and default values.
Filtering existing fields makes it easy for users to:
Review which of their fields are required
Identify and remove unused and unmapped fields
Easily view and manage specific fields by type
This functionality is especially useful when building and editing lengthy Templates with a large number of existing fields. You can find this feature within the Template Editor in the Template Fields panel, under Existing.
Add Basic Design Elements to Adjust Formatting
Need to make an edit to the background of your form Template? Rather than leaving the GoFormz application, save time by applying Page Elements to your existing Template.
Use our Page Elements feature to apply simple updates and additions to your form Template’s background. These elements include:
Images: Add Images to your Template to easily include your business’ logo, branding assets, and other imagery.
Rectangles: Add Rectangles to your Template to mask unwanted formatting, create new sections, add brand colors, and more.
Lines: Add Lines to your Template to divide sections, include areas for new fields, and more.
Text: Add Text to your Template to include new text on your background, like section headers, disclaimer information, and more.
This feature empowers Template builders to make basic design additions to their form background, directly within the Template Editor – eliminating the need for users to spend valuable time redesigning and reuploading their form.
