Spotlight Feature: The Image Field

Augment your digital forms with Image fields

“A picture is worth a thousand words”, especially when relaying critical project information to colleagues, clients, and partners. Using GoFormz, your mobile forms can host a variety of new data types, including Images

Image fields can be easily added to your mobile forms and can leverage your device’s native camera feature to capture photos anywhere. Image fields can also reference your photo library, allowing users to input previously captured images (this is especially helpful when completing expense reports or adding photos of a project’s progress).

Adding Image fields to your mobile forms

To add Image fields to your mobile form, open your form in the Template Editor. Next:

1. Locate the Image field from the Template Fields section (to the left of your mobile form Template) and drag-and-drop an Image field onto your form.

2. Adjust the size and placement of your Image field.

3. In the Properties section (to the right of your mobile form Template) you can adjust your field’s name, color, and more.

4. Save your mobile form Template.

You can now begin including Images within your mobile forms. Please note: GoFormz supports JPEG, PNG, GIF, and BMP image formats.

Real Image field customer use cases

Robert Henry Corporation - Construction
Challenge: Robert Henry teams struggled to capture job site photos due to issues with cumbersome cameras and transferring files to their computer-based systems.

Solution: Robert Henry teams now use GoFormz mobile forms to input job site images into their digital forms. Captured job site images can now be instantly accessed and reviewed by the back-office.

Lennon, Smith, Souleret Engineering, Inc. - Engineering
Challenge: Lennon, Smith, Souleret Engineering (LSSE) struggled with the vast amount of time required to manually complete, deliver, process, and store field paperwork and images. Once images were delivered to the back-office, LSSE team members were then required to manually centralize and rename each photo – resulting in significant time wasted.

Solution: With GoFormz mobile forms and Automated Workflows, once a form is completed in the field, it is dynamically routed to an existing or new project folder within OneDrive. Within that folder, subfolders store forms by their project date, as well as images extracted from the form. These images are then named based on the survey ID and the photo number (e.g. ‘Survey 1234567 - 1’). This process has greatly streamlined LSSE’s form and photo processing, saving incredible amounts of time.

DESHAZO - Machinery
Challenge: The mobile nature of DESHAZO’s team made working with paper forms complicated – forms needed to be completed at heights and failed to incorporate critical Images.

Solution: Mobile forms drastically simplified the capture of job site images, as well as the communication of project needs to clients.
